Ronin, as portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is an alternate persona adopted by Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye (played by Jeremy Renner). He first appeared as Ronin in Avengers: Endgame (2019).
Following the decimation of half of all life in the universe by Thanos, and the loss of his family, Barton abandoned his Hawkeye identity. He became Ronin, a ruthless vigilante who systematically hunted down and eliminated organized crime figures across the globe. His actions were driven by grief and a desire for revenge.
